This afternoon Primary 6 researched the symbols associated with Advent, particularly the Jesse Tree. They identified a range of symbols that may be present on the tree and used Bibles to find out the meaning behind the symbols.

This morning we did some problem solving during maths and at the end we got to make our own problem. We used the strategies of working backwards and reasoning logically.
Here’s some opinions from our class:
Elaine-“It was hard at first until we did a few more”
Reuben-“It was fun and challenging, we got to make our own!”
Joshua-“It is a good way to improve on your problem solving skills.”
Primary 6 were hard at work today. To start the morning we looked at using reading strategies to help our understanding of unfamiliar texts. Today we focused on scanning and skimming and used these strategies to locate key information about Saint Margaret and Saint Andrew.
In Maths we moved on to a new topic – Angles. Today we identified and sorted a range of angles before completing a tricky challenge of measuring angles in our names.
Last week we attended an anti-bullying workshop. We learned about the impact that bullying can have on your mental and physical health. We did some activities and had chats about it.
Elaine and Emmanuel with the rest of the Equalities Group helped to set up the workshop and made it possible, thanks guys!
“We need to be kind and support each other!” Ayat
“The workshop was interesting, fun and informative” Annabelle
Every Thursday for the next three weeks we are building something new. This Thursday we built a k-nex motorway, last week we built a tower. It was very fun and exciting.
“We had a lot of fun because it involved creativity” Noah.
”It was a bit tricky because we had to go through trial and error” Kyle.

Yesterday we were learning about bereavement, loss and grief.
We had chats with our friends about memories we have, happy and sad.
Then we listened to a few examples of “I Remember” poems for some inspiration to make our own poems. We then wrote poems or paragraphs about our memories.
Here are examples of our work.

Last Monday we built the base of teepees we got in groups of four. We got to pick either to. Use tarp or to use leaves then we used something like a bobble to hold the tarp or leaves🍁. Then Mr Farrell poured water to see how water proof it was.
