Forest School

A little bit of rain didn’t deter P2 today! Rainsuits on and off to the forest we went.

After playing a game of camouflage we started creating our own tree faces. We used mud and natural materials. We had to remember our forest school rule We don’t lick and we don’t pick.

Forest School

Another great session with Mrs Carwood. This week we used natural materials to make art.  The children created incredible images. Well done P2a.

We also found a bird’s nest that had fallen from a tree.

We had another great day! As it gets colder and muddier we continue to look for donations of wellies and rain suits.

Thanks!

Forces Toys

As part of our Toys topic we have been looking at the what makes toys move.  We have been investigated forces on toys. We used toy cars and ramps to explore push and pull. We also created our own Pom Pom mazes.

We also made helicopters with Miss Day. This helped us to explore gravity as this was the force pulling the paper helicopter to the ground. IMG_3174

We also sorted different toys based on whether they should be pushed or pulled.

Outdoor Classroom Day

Thursday 4th November marked Outdoor classroom day.

Primary 2 created posters to remind others how to play safely with the loose parts equipment.

We also had to opportunity to work with P2b to use loose parts. It was great for P2 to spend time working together.

The children responded well to this activity.

Great job P2.

Forest School – Worms

Grandfather tree left us a basket full of microscopes and books about worms.

We went on a worm hunt, stamping on the ground so the worms thought it was raining.

We also played on the new ropes swing and used the magnifying glasses around the forest.

Some pupils also decided to create a Prayer Space where anyone can go if they want to thank God for this beautiful space.

We then listened to Superworm by Julia Donaldson.
Can’t wait until next week!
