Valentine’s Day!

P1b have been learning about St Valentine today! We talked about the people that we love most and we wrote about why we love them so much!

We also made some beautiful cards today to take home!

Well done Primary 1!

Star writers

Primary 1b are celebrating some star writers this morning! We have been writing about our February weekend. We have used the words first, next, and finally to help us to sequence the events of our weekends. We talked about it first with our learning buddies before we had a go of writing. Jack and Zara have both produced fantastic pieces of writing this morning all by themselves. Fantastic work!

Awards

Well done our award winners from last week! Anas received our literacy award for working so hard on his sounds both in class and at home! Arya was our star of the week for being a superstar helper in the class for both her friends and for the class teacher! Well done to both of you!

Learning buddies

Primary 1b have really been enjoying supporting each other with their learning this week! Our learning buddies have been working really hard on their sounds, tricky words, numbers, days of the week and months of the year!

We have also been continuing with our daily challenges in class this week!

We have also been up to lots of interesting things through our play this week.

We hope all of our families have a lovely holiday weekend!

What a busy week!

Primary 1b have really been taking control of our own learning this week! We have been enjoying both literacy and numeracy challenges and have been supporting each other to calculate our number stories and to fix mixed up sentences!

We’ve also had a lovely golden time this afternoon exploring a new construction resource and playing with our STEM resources.

We have started our learning buddies activities this week, please ask us to explain this to you at home.

Have a lovely weekend!

Leading our own learning!

This month P1b will be learning about Scotland! We started the planning process by talking about what we already know about Scotland.

We then explored 2 Scotland talking tubs! Our talking tubs were full of all things Scottish. We had a good look through them and selected things that we were interested in.

We placed the things we were interested in on to our floor map and then drew pictures of the thing we were most interested in and placed those on our floor map too.

Fantastic work P1b!

Primary 1 and 2 disco in the hall!

P1 and P2 had a brilliant morning down in the hall showing off our very impressive dance moves!

We can only apologise for the blurry photos, we were moving too quickly to pose!

We would like to wish all of our children and families a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! See you all bright and early on 6th January!

Mrs Carwood and Miss Gemmell 🙂

Monday 16th December

Primary 1 would like to extend their thanks to all of our families for your support last week for our nativity performance! The children had a wonderful experience and we are all feeling very festive now!

We have had a very busy day today. We have been doing some dictation for the first time and we have been working on remembering to include capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in our sentences.

We also have been learning mental maths strategies, please ask us to share our doubles with you!

This afternoon we received a letter from Santa himself, looking for help with his sleigh! We designed new sleighs for Santa and we will post them to him tomorrow for his approval!
