Digital Literacy Week

This afternoon we had an exciting input from some of the Digital Leaders, Kiera and Malik. They showed the class how to create a digital book cover for our topic study, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Thank you both!

Friday Round-up

It has been an eventful week in Primary 4b and the children are keen to share their favourite moments.

Alfie – I enjoyed the STEM challenge because we got to play and work with our friends.

Tatiana – I liked doing our writing, describing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Steven – I liked every day!

Anas – I liked when we did Art. We were using oil pastels to create an eye.

Shay – I liked when we did our mental maths.

Martin – I liked building the tower in the STEM challenge.

Ben – I enjoyed PE.

Grace – I liked music with Mrs Carey.

Well done to those children who received Growth Mindset and Star Pupil awards!

 

 

Maths Week Scotland 2022

This week is Maths Week Scotland 2022 and we have been celebrating in St. Mark’s with lots of problem solving Numeracy activities.

Today the children took part in a STEAM challenge in which they had to build the tallest tower. They used skills such as communicating, creativity, leading and collaborating.

Well done to the winning team!

Busy Bees in Primary 4b!

The children in Primary 4b have been working their socks off the past few weeks! They have settled in to classroom routines well and are enjoying their Daily Literacy Learning (DLL) sessions, as well as lots of fun opportunities to apply their Numeracy skills through group games. In PE the children have continued to focus on improving their fitness levels and they are developing their communication skills during loose parts play.

Well done also to those children who have been awarded the Growth Mindset or Star Pupil awards!

Monday Fun in P4b!

Today Primary 4b had a visit from Mr McKenna. Mr McKenna showed the children how to use the Numeracy boards and had some fun playing some different games. The children are very excited to use these in class!

In PE today the children were reinforcing and developing their ball skills. Today they were working hard to throw and catch with a partner using a variety of techniques.

Our ‘Star of the Week’ is enjoying his perks! Well done.

Our Weekly Roundup

It has been another busy week in Primary 4b! This week the children have shared their highlights.

Shay – In Numeracy we have been revising our times tables and using arrays to help us find the answer.

Mila – We completed a piece of writing called ‘All About Me’.

Lorena – We took part in PE. On Monday we focused on ball skills and took part in some fun games. On Tuesday we completed circuits to improve fitness levels.

Tatiana – We did Daily Literacy Learning (DLL) every day this week. We were reading our new books every day.

Anas – We used number lines to compare numbers to 1000.

Martin – I enjoyed reading my new book.

Jessica – We had fun during outdoor learning, we worked in groups to make a home for a small creature like a hamster.

Arya – We have started to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (this will be our book study and IDL topic for this term).

Ivy – We were revising doubles in our mental math sessions.

Reiss – In RE we used the Bible to read stories where Jesus showed care and compassion to others.

Grace – We revised number bonds.

Emmanuella – We took part in French with Mrs Farren and we were learning how to say different greetings.

Our Second Week

The boys and girls in Primary 4b have had a successful second week. They have all been working extremely hard and enjoyed opportunities to work together in groups. On Thursday we took our RE lesson outdoors and created short role plays about making good or bad choices. We rounded off our week with a fun Friday afternoon, playing board games with friends. Well done to those children who received awards this week too!

Wednesday Catch Up

It has been a busy week already in Primary 4b. The children have been working hard and enjoying a variety of lessons across the curriculum. Today we were visited by a music specialist. The children thoroughly enjoyed the session.

A Week in Primary 4b!

It has been an excellent first week in Primary 4b. The children have settled in to their new classroom and have enjoyed spending time with their friends. They have also been working extremely hard across the curriculum. I am very proud of them all!
