Primary 4b have thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating their very own Roman shields.
Young Journalists📝✏️
Today Primary 4b were learning lots of new skills. They were tasked with writing a newspaper report about the Roman Invasion of Britain. The children worked in pairs to research the details, noting down the relevant information on mind maps. They then transferred this information to a newspaper report. Fantastic effort by everyone👏😊🌟.
Sponsored Walk
Primary 4b enjoyed taking part in the SCIAF ‘Soul2Sole’ challenge today. Well done everyone for your effort 👏👟
Learning Through Play
Primary 4b had another exciting morning, learning through play. The children had the opportunity to use 2d shapes to create tiling patterns, programme the Bee-Bot using directional language to navigate through a maze and consolidate previous learning on time. Well done everyone 😊🌟👏.
The Centurion’s Servant
Primary 4b have been learning about the role of Jesus as a teacher and a healer. One of the examples they have chosen to focus on from the gospel is ‘The Cure of the Centurion’s servant’. The children linked this to our Roman IDL topic and enjoyed investigating the story further through drama.
Imaginative Writing
The children have been working very hard to up-level their writing this term. Today they finished off a block of imaginative writing by producing an amazing story. I am so proud of the hard work every single person has put into this unit of work, well done 👏🌟.
Rugby
We have started a new PE block, rugby. Today the children enjoyed taking part in some team games.
Music
Today Primary 4b were visited by our music specialist. The children were learning about time signatures – two numbers which come at the start of a piece of music. The children learned a few new songs which they enjoyed singing and making actions for.
British Science Week
To mark the start of British Science Week, our school STEM Leaders visited the class and carried out an experiment. The focus of Science Week is ‘connections’. The children were tasked with working collaboratively to create a boat out of tinfoil. Every group worked hard to complete the task👏🌟. Once all boats were created they were tested on the water to see if they could float and if they were strong enough to carry weights!
