Story Mapping

Today during our Literacy session the children were summarising and retelling a well known story, Chicken Licken, through story mapping. ย The children read and acted out the story before creating their own story map. Next week the children will be using their story maps to rewrite and up-level the story!

Creative Writing

Over the past few weeks we have been learning how to improve our writing. We have focused on using interesting vocabulary, cool connectives, engaging openers and a range of punctuation (VCOP) to engage our readers. Today we wrote a story about an alien landing on earth. We spent time drawing out our stories during the planning process before beginning to write them. It was great to share our ideas and stories with the class!

Angles

Today in Numeracy the triangle group were investigating right angles and identifying right angles in the environment. Well done!

Numeracy Stations

Today Primary 4b were applying their knowledge of the 4 operations at a number of different Numeracy stations to complete several word problems.

Directions

In Numeracy, the circle group have been learning about giving and following directions. Today the group were ย applying their knowledge to create mazes for Bee-Bots. Once the maze was created each group had to write directions for other groups to follow, using directional language such as left, right, forwards and backward. Some groups even included compass points as directions!

Tennis

This term in PE the children have been working on their tennis skills! They have enjoyed working with a partner to develop co-ordination and control.

Numeracy

Today in class the children had opportunities to revise multiplication and division strategies. They enjoyed working with a partner to complete active games.

Music

Today the children were excited to be back with our music specialist, Ms Carey. Today the children were using their listening skills to identify what instruments were used to create music and were able to discuss how certain music can have an emotive impact. They also learned new terms such as crescendo and diminuendo! Excellent boys and girls ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š.
