Sport Day – Wow what a fun morning we had!
Well done to all the participants, everyone tried there best and enjoyed the activities arranged by Miss Kelly and our active sport coordinator Ryan.
Animation
Primary 2 drew their own reindeers.
Then used an app called ChatterKid to make their own animations!
They had to capture an image and use the record functions to record the speech. Pupils were then able to add filters, stickers and text.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to share them all but there will be plenty more opportunities!
Nativity
Over the last few weeks Primary two have been working hard to prepare and p
roduce a nativity. Â We had a preview with popcorn during the week.
We hope everyone enjoys our Nativity.
Advent Mass
This term has been full of virtual firsts, therefore it was only appropriate as we come towards Christmas that we had a virtual Mass with Father Joe. Primary 2 sat reverently and showed an awareness of the importance of Mass. Â Well done Primary 2.
Hyacinth update
After planting our bulbs back in October, our bulbs have grown and are nearly ready to blossom.
It is likely the hyacinths will open during the holidays so pupils will be taking them home before the end of term.
As part of this process we’ve been learning how to look after plants but also recognising the role we have in nurturing the world around us!
Salt dough decorations
We were given salt dough decorations to decorate. Before painting Primary 2 had to plan different patterns before deciding on their favourite and final.
Primary 2 loved using the paint and we will be exploring use of paint more after the new year. As you can see our final designs are incredible.
Pupils took these home on Monday to hang on their Christmas trees.
Christmas Dinner
Primary 2b loved their Christmas dinner. It was delicious meal and served by our fabulous lunch ladies and an oddly familiar elf! Â Our Christmas meal was very special.
Jigsaws and Bridges
As part of our play we have been explored jigsaws and Primary 2 have been throughly enjoying having this area. If you have any complete jigsaws at home that you are no longer using any donations for our class would be brilliant.
Some pupils also built a bridge using chairs to provide supports. The bridge was nearly out the window!
Let’s go fly a kite!
As part of our topic we have been looking at traditional toys. Primary 2 created their own kites using paper and art straws. We had the perfect windy day to test them out.
This was an excellent opportunity to practise essential cutting skills.
St. Andrew’s Day
On Monday P2 marked St. Andrew’s day by making flags.
Pupils learned of St. Andrew’s journeys in Europe. They learned how he spread the teaching of Jesus and inspired many.
They found out that the Saltire represents the cross which he died on.
