Well done to Aleah for receiving the Head Teacher Award for her outstanding dragon artwork.

She demonstrated her ability to use the visual element of line to create a fantastic dragon head and pattern to create the texture of the dragons scales.

This week your additional homework task is the First Ministers Reading Challenge. Please see attached file. FMRC Homework Task

We reflected on last weeks homework task and started our new social studies topic, People Who Help Us. Lots of us wanted to learn about doctors, vets and dentists so we watched video clips and discussed how they help us.

We also discovered how they help us through match activities and storyboards. We even designed a medicine bottle!

This week additional whole school homework is a creative competition for ‘Showing Racism the Red Card’.

Show Racism the Red Card Competitions encourage young people from schools and other educational settings to produce creative work with an original anti-racism theme.

You may wish to create a poster on an A4 sheet of paper.

Homework will continue as before;

Please continue to read the reading book every evening and use the reading marker to extend understanding. Please sign when complete.

Please continue to practice the given sound using the multi-sensory approaches given every evening (daily sound is now recorded on the reading marker).

Additionally,

Pupils are asked to engage with given numeracy and maths tasks on education city (pupils have already received an education city log in).

Pupils will regularly be given talking and listening homework.

This week Primary 1 have been asked to share their new topic with their family and freiends at home. They are asked to discuss what they already know about our new social studies topic; people who help us and what they would like to find out about during our topic.

We all had a ball at our Christmas Party and are looking forward to a wonderful festive season.

Well Done to Keira for being awarded the head teachers award for her participation in Health and Weellbeing.

Keira has been working really hard to share her feelings using the Inside Out characters. She shared her feelings about starting school with the class and drew a picture inside her memory ball of her first day at school. She said she felt a little scared like fear but excited like joy too! Keep up the hard work Keira!

For homework this week pupils are asked to share their learning on their Blog with family and friends.
