Primary 7a 23/24

Today we undertook a budgeting activity using the Morrison’s website. We collaborated to select products that we could use to host a party for our class of 28. We discovered the importance of comparing costs of branded and non branded items, as well as paying attention to the grams/millilitres stated. Like so many of the children in the class, Ross loves to dive into a series of books and work his way through them. He’s now on the fourth in the series of Marcus Rashford books and has loved learning the lessons within them and sharing with others. Keep bringing in your books to inspire others, boys and girls.

Some of our social justice posters related to education are now on display in the Barrhead Library! We identified aspects of/trends within our education system that we’d love to see change. Hopefully our posters will encourage smaller children to engage with important issues and make changes too! Don’t forget to scan the QR code within the display to hear our thoughts in our own words. 😊❤️

Today we created Internet Safety posters about how technology can make a difference to our lives. This years theme is “making a difference.”

We have now started our initial preparations for our end of year school show. The audition process will soon begin. We’re excited to bring you Joseph in May!

We shared what we learned within our novel study within the context of a stop motion video. We first created storyboards, then made props and, finally, shot and edited it. We now know that a combination of scapegoating, ignorance, misinformation, propaganda, fear and greed from the general population allowed the Holocaust to occur. We hope to always challenge viewpoints that are hateful or wrong.

A massive “well done” to amazing Anna who is a leading light thanks to just how strong she is in a variety of areas. Anna is a determined and diligent worker and has been striving to collaborate and share ideas with others too in P7 so that they might hit her ambitious levels. Keep it going, Anna!

To mark Holocaust Memorial Day, P7a have been drawing some conclusions from their class novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and reflecting on what they’ve learned about prejudice.

Congratulations to the lovely Jessica who is our current Student of the Week in P7a! Jessica completes every task to the highest of standards and applies fantastic study skills such as proofreading and up-levelling! What an impressive attitude to learning!
