Fairtrade Coffee Morning

Thank you to everyone who came along. The pupils had a great morning after a week of looking forward to it. We hope you enjoyed our song about Pablo the Banana.

A big well done to the children who spoke about Fairtrade, speaking in front of a large group of people can be very intimidating but they all showed they are Confident individuals.

World Book Day: Books for Breakfast

We kicked of World Book Day this morning with a “Books for Breakfast” storytelling session because books are not just for bedtime.

We read Roald Dahl’s “The Twit” a wonderfully disgusting book about the revolting Mr and Mrs Twit.

They children then decided to share a story with each other.

World Book Day: P7 Storytelling

Thank you to the Primary 7 pupil who very kindly volunteered to spend their World Book Day reading a story to our class.

They chose Giles Andreae’s “Rumble in the Jungle” and included animal sounds and actions.  I great book for audience participation.

Golden time: Fairtrade cookies

Last Friday during Golden Time, to celebrate Fairtrade fortnight and in preparation for our Fairtrade coffee morning, we made four batches of Fairtrade cookies.

We spotted the Fairtrade logo on the sugar and chocolate we used and know that the farmers who grew the sugar cane and cocoa beans will receive a fair days pay for their hard work.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any photos to share with you as we couldn’t operate the camera as our hands were covered in cookie dough.

Whole school homework: Successes and Achievements

This week’s whole school homework focuses on your child’s achievements outside of the classroom.  The St Mark’s Primary Successes and Achievements Talking and Listening Homework sheet will be coming home in the next few days and it would be great if you could take the time and fill it in with your child.

Is there any school clubs that your child attends? P2 play club or Football club?

Is there any clubs that your child attends outside of school? Beavers or Rainbows? Dancing or swimming?

Have they won any badges, certificates, trophies or medals this school year?

Please let us know!
