Thank you!

It seems fitting that we should reach our 3000th visit on our learning blog just as our year together has come to an end.  I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to visit our blog and it has been fun creating it knowing that you were visiting every week.

I personally would like to thank all the children of P2a and St Mark’s for making this a very special year.  I want to thank all the staff for their constant support, their fun and laughter have made this a memorable year.  Thank you to all the parents who have offered or given support this year, without it we couldn’t do our jobs.

I wish all the children and their families happiness and success in the future.

French Tuck Shop

Primary 2a decided to celebrate French Day today by running a French tuck shop for Primary 1 and 2. We sold croissants, brioche and crepes and they were so popular we extended the tuck shop to Primaries 3 to 6. Unfortunately, we sold out before we reached Primary 7. Sorry Primary 7!

Thank you all the children who helped set up and run the tuck shop as well as all our customers. We made a profit of £23 which we donated to school funds.

Health week: Day 5

To make up for yesterday’s disappointment, cancelling of Sports Day,  we decided to take advantage of the good weather and go outside and have some of our own races.

Stick Eiffel towers

Yesterday, we went outside and built some of our own Eiffel Towers made out of sticks.

Our first attempts were good but after some discussion we had another attempt with more sticks and they were amazing.

French day

Monday will be French Day for the whole school which is particularly good for Primary 2a as our topic this term is France.

To help the school celebrate, Primary 2a will be running a special French tuck shop for Primary 1 and 2. We will be selling tasty French snacks such as croissants and crepes for 50p each.  So please bring your money to school on Monday and support Primary 2a.

Today we made fruit kebabs with the kitchen staff and talked about the importance of eating 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day.

Reading and library books

Can children in Primary 2, please ensure that they have returned all reading and library books to school no later that Monday 24th June. This would help us greatly in preparing for classes next year.

Thank you!
