Today during writing time we created a letter to send to Mr Hutcheson about what we would like to do to mark COP26 in Glasgow. We think there’s great eco-friendly things we could do for our school and our community!

Comments Off on Maths Week Scotland!
For Maths Week Scotland P5a came up with a new game that challenges them to use a range of maths knowledge and strategies to guess a Mystery Number. It’s a great way to think creatively!
We also focused on the role of mathematics in the world and how important it is within so many professions! We all agreed that it’s vital to work hard and gain as much knowledge as possible that will aid you in the future.

Comments Off on St. Mark’s 60th Anniversary!
Thanks to the amazing Erin (and her mum!) for sharing information and artefacts about what St. Mark’s used to be like. We all learned so much and enjoyed being able to analyse evidence! We especially loved looking at the old school photos and how the uniform has evolved!

Comments Off on Global Goals Week! Day 4
Well done to Maya who was inspired by our learning in class related to Global Goals Week and went home and created a passionate speech about why we should all care about climate change. Her message was very clear – SPEAK UP!
We thought about the term ‘Social Inequality’ today on the fourth day of Global Goals Week and look at the different circumstances that can cause this to occur. We analysed quotes from activists and identified which Global Goals on Social Inequality they related to.
Have a happy and safe weekend everyone! You’ve all worked so hard!

Comments Off on Global Goals Week – Gender Equality
Today we thought about the Global Goal related to gender equality and the progress that must be made. We thought about examples of leadership in the UK and in our local area. We then created percentages of leadership that are female. We then had a class discussion about what we felt in response to this data and submitted our results to the From Where I Stand website.

Comments Off on Global Goals Week – Climate Change!
Today P5a carried on with their Global Goals Week learning and focused on Climate Change! They visited the Climate Changemakers Website and created 100 word messages addressed to some of the powerful leaders that will be attending COP26. They have also started a Global Goals World News Map where they can add stories, or summarise news stories that they’ve heard about, that relate to any of the 17 goals. #globalgoalsweek
