Science – Chemical Reaction

Today in Science we were learning about chemical reactions. We lit a candle to see the chemical reaction that took place and then we put vitamins c in water to see the chemical reaction. We predicted then took notes each time about what happened.  We now know that a chemical reaction is when a change has happened what can not be reversed. Blog by Brooke

Grammar Activity

We worked hard to identify examples of a range of grammar terms. We’re trying to incorporate a range of vocabulary in our creative writing in order to help the reader visualise effectively.

Empathy – Health & Wellbeing

Today we focused on empathy and came to understanding of what it is and how we show it to others. We worked together to form a bank of actions that we can put into action within our class.

Class Library!

We recently purchased a rug for our class library and we were so generously given some cushions and blankets by parents and carers to enhance the space too. We’re going to keep adding to the area to make it the most cosy, enjoyable space to read in.

I hope lots of the boys and girls have asked  Santa for some books! ❤️😊

Outdoor Learning!

We are continuing to utilise outdoor learning opportunities to build our cooperative skills, our ability to communicate with others and also our creative thinking when meeting a design challenge. Below are some of our Christmas trees. Some of us prioritised height, whilst others focused on their shape. Some also added elements like sleighs and presents etc. They all had to be built to withstand a strong Scottish wind !!!

Here is a little sneaky preview of what we’ll be selling to P5 parents/carers for our mini Enterprise project. Can you guess what we’ll have when we put the paper together? 😁

Student of the Week – Christina!

Well down to the amazingly hard working Christina who is our most recent Student of the Week! She has been making such impressive improvements to her reading and her expression is growing day by day. Christina is setting personal targets and is such a wonderful example of determination to others. Great job!

Affordability (Numeracy)

We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about budgets and comparing costs during our Numeracy unit of study. Yesterday we had to make choices about how to feed a family of six for Christmas lunch without going over our allotted £45 but whilst also meeting criteria about what the meal should include. We definitely didn’t scrimp on dessert!!!
