Primary 7a 23/24

Today we got invited to St Luke’s for a special talk about Carlo Acutis and the miracles that he was involved in. We got to learn how he is becoming a Saint. We also got to touch a relic containing his hair. We got to write a prayer that is going to be under his tomb for 24 hours in Assisi.

Today we completed our reading of The Last Wild and worked together in small groups to share our personal responses to events, characters and themes within the book. Happily, there are two more parts left in the trilogy! Summer reading awaits. ☀️

Our main focus for the past two weeks has been building a shelter that’s weather proof. There’s been some fantastic team work and communication on display. Though a few people got a little wet! 😀

Our new Student of the Week Christina has made amazing steps forward this year across the curriculum. All of her progress is due to her wonderful attitude towards learning and her ability to listen and adapt accordingly. So many people could take inspiration from you, Christina! You showcase a growth mindset each day in class and we’re so proud of you.

The children represented our school for a second time at the Rotary Club Quiz and acquitted themselves wonderfully! They utilised their general knowledge and displayed a sporting attitude throughout! Well done!

We have been working hard during lunchtimes to create exciting props for our school show! Some other pupils have also elected to prepare for The Rotary Club Quiz during this time too! Really proud of our industrious pupils!

Congrats to the fantastic Desire who is our latest Student of the Week! Desire has been stepping out of her comfort zone more and more in P7. She answers out and is always available to read aloud within our novel study. You’re a brilliant classmate to your peers thanks to your fair and supportive attitude too. We’re proud of you!

Our new Maths Coaches are looking forward to helping their peers with strategies and approaches to problems.

For the past few weeks in art we have been creating art that shows the dangers that animals are facing to help spread awareness for them. This is the theme of our class novel The Last Wild.
