Fielding and striking🤽🏼‍♂️🚣🏻‍♂️🤽🏽‍♀️

During P.E we were making stations with our active learning groups about fielding and striking. Our groups were cooperating to make amazing stations and we used the strategy, ‘2 stay and 2 stray’ to teach each group all of the skills involved at each station. I liked it beasuse you get to know how to play other people’s games 😄👍we enjoyed the games the groups made

The triangle scavenger hunt🔺🔍

The math group the Pyramids walked around the school to look for different triangles with their right angle triangle measurer made from a gum circle.🔍🔴📐 They had to identify acute, obtuse and right angled triangles in the school environment. They then had to challenge themselves by recognising if the triangles were scalene, iscocles or equilateral. Well done pyramids!

STEM Challenge!

Thank you to the Young STEM Leaders who led a session with us today on building a boat with tin foil for British Science Week. One of our boats managed to hold 595g before water leaked in! Great teamwork!

K’nex Challenge

We loved taking part in the Glasgow Science Festival class K’nex challenge this morning. We had to build a bridge that could hold a small water bottle, was at least 19cm high and at least 30cm long. It also had to have an opening for a boat of any size to pass through. We all agreed that this was a lot trickier than we first thought. Excellent communication, problem solving and designs were demonstrated.

Well done to our winners Michael and Jack!

World Book Day!! 📕🌟📚

Today was world book day! We watched a live lesson as well we went for outdoor learning. The live lesson starred Michael Rosen and other authors. Then we went outside for Outdoor Learning. The challenge was to build a scene, a character or front cover from a book. For example a Harry Potter scene! Here are some photos from our fun lessons.

We used resources from Barclays to explore the difference between income and expenditure. We looked at real life scenarios and considered changes people could  make to their lives to save more money.
