Primary 7a 23/24

Today we opened the scrolls containing a letter we wrote to ourselves on the first day of P7. It contained our hopes for the year and the things we were looking forward to or were nervous about. We wrapped it in ribbon that represented a measurement of our height at that time. Safe to say that we’ve grown in all kinds of ways! Video attached below.

The last time Scotland were in the Euros, things looked a little different! Come on, Scotland! Who can you spot?!

Within our narrative writing we are aiming to uplevel our work by including some alliteration. We practised a little today using our own name sounds.

Today we learned about safety around fires and we recapped on the most effective way to start a fire and keep it burning. We cooked food and talked about food journeys and whereabouts the various ingredients came from. Pizza on a Monday morning – what a life!

Today in forest school we got to learn how to safely make a pizza from a fire that we helped create. A few of the pizzas came out a bit burnt but from that we learned what to do better next time.

Today in class we had Ross talking about his Aunty’s new book which she kindly donated a signed copy of to our school library for everyone to enjoy. Also in class today we had Erin and Mia talking about some books they have enjoyed reading in the past few weeks. The books are by Holly Jackson.

The other day we celebrated Ross’s accomplishment of getting his full blue belt in kickboxing which is second to last belt you can achieve.

Each Monday a part of our homework is to continue a story, including the same story features as the original. I secretly pick one person to get the next paragraph from ChatGPT then see if the rest of the class can identify it when they read each others. This week people identified that Chloe’s was the AI paragraph by placing their name next to hers as a vote. They knew it was AI due to the lack of twists and turns it and the extensive level of detail. Our stories are far more creative!
