Homework w/b 25th March 2019

Whole School Homework Task – First Minister’s Reading Challenge – Update and Activities plus timetable highlighted to each individual child.

World Poetry Day was on Thursday 21st March so P5 decided to celebrate by writing their own limericks! We had to count the syllables in each line as lines 1,2 and 5 have 8 syllables and lines 3 and 4 have 5 syllables. We laughed a lot writing and hearing these.

Science – Forces

P5b have been learning about forces, this week we looked at the impact of friction on the movement of a toy car. We worked in teams to carry out the experiment and then recorded our results in an Investigation Booklet just like real scientists!

P5b have been learning all about inferential and literal questions to help them with their reading comprehension.

“We are learning about Literal and Inferential questions and finding the difference between them. Literal questions are when the answer is right there in the passage. For inferential questions we have to become detectives and find clues to help us find the answer.”
