This week we have been learning about sound and vibration and taking part in practical activities. Here we are guessing sounds and seeing sound waves in water.
This week we have been practising for our learning assembly. We are so excited to share this with the rest of the school and to perform in front of our families!
We finished our angles and directions topic in Numeracy. We loved using the Bee-Bots to consolidate our knowledge on our lefts and rights, using right angle turns and following instructions! We set up a race track and programmed the Bee-Bots with the correct directions to follow.
We enjoyed being creative outdoors using the loose parts play. We teamed up with P2a to work on team building skills and using our friendship qualities which we have been discussing in our topic.
Our numeracy topic is directions and yesterday we learned about right angles. We discovered that when we turn our bodies left or right, we move in the shape of a right angle.
We explored our classroom to discover where we can find right angles in our everyday environment, for example within the clock!
We then decided to go a walk throughout the school and into the playground to discover where else we could find right angles within the environment.
Our current numeracy topic is directions. We have been looking at prepositional language such as up, down, beside, behind and in front of. We have also been playing at the tuff tray where we created a road map for our toy cars to practise moving forwards, backwards and turning.
Primary 2 have been loving this song to help learn their lefts and rights! Here is the link if you want to have a listen and practise at home!
Last week we did many different maths problem solving challenges during our numeracy lessons to celebrate Maths Scotland Week! On Friday, we did the STEM challenge in groups to see which group could build the tallest structure.
