Class achievement – Jigsaws

In P2b, we have been working on puzzles and jigsaws. Through this we learned about the importance of teamwork and developed our communication skills. The world map jigsaw was the trickiest and had 150 pieces! We were very happy to complete this on Friday as it took us a few weeks to finish it.

Aysha – we learned to not give up.

Minha – we had to listen to our team mates.

Tymon – we challenged ourselves.

Zenab – teamwork makes the dream work.

Qasim – I enjoyed finding the different countries on the map.

Isaac – This linked to our learning about different weathers as we looked at the climates across the world.

British Science Week

During British Science week, we were visited by the STEM leaders. We showed great team work and communication skills as we worked together to create a boat made of tin foil. We tested our boats in water to see whether it would float or sink when different weights were added.

Languages Week Scotland

Last week it was Languages Week Scotland and we enjoyed learning about all the different languages. We discovered that there are 10 different languages spoken by the families of people in our class!

We had lots of fun learning well known nursery rhymes in different languages such as Urdu, Italian, Russian and Polish.

A big thank you to all of the helpers at our all around the world event this morning. We enjoyed trying the traditional clothing and delicious food from your countries.

Library Visit

A few weeks ago, we visited our local library! We were lucky to borrow a book and we have been dedicating some time in class to read and enjoy the books taken from the library. We have explored different genres and how reading the blurb at the back of the book can tell us a little about what it is going to be about.

Mini robots day

We enjoyed going down to the hall  for a workshop with the digital leaders to celebrate mini robots day! It was fun to see how we can use problem solving and coding skills to control the different digital equipment.

Art with Miss McIntyre

P2b working through stages of Formal Self Portraiture. The pupils discussed the science of the human face. Using the super power of looking resulted in an exceptional start to their project! Finished work to follow!

The Travelling Crib

This morning primary two gathered together for a prayer service to celebrate the beginning of Advent. We discussed that Advent is a time of preparation and that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas. As a year group, we are taking part in The Travelling Crib project, where children will get to take the nativity scene home to share with their families and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas together. Please tweet and share any pictures when it is your turn!
