Well done to Minha for being brave and defying gravity at indoor sky diving!
A special shout-out to Aysha for showcasing her creativity by making a beautiful poster about our rules at St Mark’s.
We made our mark! Today we split into two teams and created a lean-to shelter. We showed excellent teamwork skills and are very proud of what we created!
This week, we worked with a partner to create small dens and shelters. We expressed our creativity and showed good communication skills.
This afternoon we went outside to learn about time. We know that there is 60 minutes in an hour. We played a game to learn and remember the terms o’clock and half past and where this is on a clock. We then worked with a partner and used chalk and sticks to create our own clocks. We tested each other to create different times on our clocks using the sticks.
Today we went to forest school for the first time in primary 2! We recapped on the rules and sang our forest school songs. We can’t wait to start completing some of our Make Your Mark achievements.
Today we completed our sponsored walk for SCIAF. We walked around the playground 10 times to walk 1 mile. If everyone in the school completed this, then we will have roughly contributed 350miles to the SCIAF challenge of walking the route around Zambia. We were very creative and made some encouraging posters for our walk.
In P2b, we have been working on puzzles and jigsaws. Through this we learned about the importance of teamwork and developed our communication skills. The world map jigsaw was the trickiest and had 150 pieces! We were very happy to complete this on Friday as it took us a few weeks to finish it.
Aysha – we learned to not give up.
Minha – we had to listen to our team mates.
Tymon – we challenged ourselves.
Zenab – teamwork makes the dream work.
Qasim – I enjoyed finding the different countries on the map.
Isaac – This linked to our learning about different weathers as we looked at the climates across the world.
During British Science week, we were visited by the STEM leaders. We showed great team work and communication skills as we worked together to create a boat made of tin foil. We tested our boats in water to see whether it would float or sink when different weights were added.
We had lots of fun on our trip to the science centre last week.
