This morning Primary 4b completed their information reports on trees. This was a tricky task but the children all worked very hard to choose and organise information from their plan.
After break we continued with our study on 3D objects. Today we were using concrete objects to identify properties such as corners, edges and faces.
This afternoon we finished our work on the ‘catastrophe scale’ by taking part in a Drama lesson. Each group were tasked with performing a scenario to their peers before deciding where it would land on the catastrophe scale.
An extremely busy and productive day P4b. Mrs Murphy ☺️

Thursday 24th October
It was a busy day in Primary 4b today. Our morning started with a Writing input in which the boys and girls had to research facts about three different types of trees. We then used this research to plan for our upcoming information text.
After break we had a Health & Wellbeing focus on the ‘catastrophe scale’. In this lesson we looked at managing emotions and working out strategies to help in challenging times throughout the school day. Everyone participated well in group discussions and matched the scenarios to their rating on the catastrophe scale.
It was our last session on time after lunch and the pupils enjoyed working through various stations to test their recently acquired knowledge.
Well done, Primary 4b. Keep up the hard work! Mrs Murphy 🙂
Making Knots
Primary 4b ticked off a further signature learning experience today at Forest School as they learned how to tie a range of knots. They also enjoyed playing on the new slack line.
Well done, everyone! Mrs Murphy 🙂
Thursday 26th September

First up was Forest School, we revised knots and played games with our friends.
In Music we learned about pitch and rhythm with Mrs Carey.
To conclude Maths Week Scotland, we looked at the story ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and took part in time stations to help the White Rabbit save the clocks in Wonderland.
Well done, everyone! A great day.

Thursday 19th September
Primary 4b had another exciting day at school.
We started the morning up at the Forest. Everyone got a chance to begin their day with a relaxing forest bath before making their mark and creating bird hides.
After break we continued on with our Maths focus of Time. The boys and girls enjoyed taking part in stations to consolidate and challenge previous learning.
In Writing we carried on with our animal descriptions and the boys and girls used the Chromebooks to identify and select interesting facts they would like to include in their descriptions.
Also a big well done to our Star Pupil. M worked hard today and listened well to feedback from his teachers.

In The Classroom
Primary 1b have been working hard over the past week. The boys and girls have been learning lots of new sounds and numbers!
Homework – week beginning 6.9.21
All children have been issued with a red homework folder, you will find this folder in their bags.
In the folder your child has a phonics workbook and a number workbook. You should only complete the dated pages as the children have not covered all sounds/ numbers yet.
Parents should sign completed homework and all folders should be returned to school on Friday in order for homework to be checked and new homework issued.
Thank you,
