Our First Week of P5!

It’s been such a positive start to P5 with lots of determination, curiosity and kindness on display. I’ve been so impressed with the pupils and I’m certain it’s going to be a really exciting year! If any of the children have any successes or achievements outside of school please encourage them to bring in any certificates, pictures etc or to come in and tell the class about them this year. I’d love to keep sharing a picture of our learners and their huge range of talents. Also, I would encourage the children to bring in a book from home if they are reading one so that we can get to know each others’ reading habits and broaden our horizons of what books and authors might excite us. Of course, there are always books available in our school library too! There will be no homework issued until the week following our Meet the Teacher afternoon and I will have gone through a week’s worth of homework before then with the children so that they are completely familiar with expectations and parents/carers can see what the activities involve. Our PE slot will be on a Friday this year to begin with and further details will be shared about additional outdoor learning activities and days.

Many thanks, Miss Mac.

Student of the Week – Daniel!

Our very first Student of the Week in P5b is the amazing Daniel! Daniel has shown wonderful listening skills all week and the ability to follow a sequence of instructions in order to successfully complete a task. In addition to this he has also demonstrated the ability to use his initiative in order to personalise his learning and take risks. His peers gave him some amazing compliments using chalk pens on the classroom window. Keep setting high standards for yourself Daniel and thanks for being a wonderfully positive role model to others! Miss Mac.

Creating our Class Charter Together!

In our first week of P5b we refreshed our memories of some of the key rights of the UNCRC and collaborated to identify which aspects are most important to us. We thought about how the implementation of these rights might involve both children and the adults, who are the duty bearers. We are well on our way to forming our charter that will shape our learning environment for the year.

Great job, everyone! Miss Mac.
