Today we have been so lucky to be visited by Ranger Reni from the Dams to Darnley Country Park. He built on what we have learned about fathers Scottish Rainforest and told us more about the plants, trees and animals living so close by us in the country park as well as in our playground!
Thank you to our wonderful reading committee for performing the book Luna Loves Art to us today. They were amazing! 🤩 We loved exploring the themes of friendship, art and feelings.
We were absolutely blown away by our Rights Respecting Reps leading a lesson today all about the history of the UNCRC Convention of the Rights of the Children. They also presented their amazing homework research on a very important person Eglantyne Jebb who wrote the first version of the rights of the child.
We have been learning all about what engineers do through our Scottish Rainforest topic as lots of civil engineers work in there. We have also been inspired to learn more about engineering after reading our new read, write, count books Martha Maps It Out and Faster Than A Cheetah. Today we celebrated National Engineering Day by entering a competition where we drew an engineer at work then described their job using everything we have learned this term! Arn’t they amazing! We are hoping for a winner!
We loved our Taekwondo taster today. We have a letter in our bags with more information!  🥋
We have started team sports in PE this week. I loved the warm up of pass tig. Then we went round different stations to develop the skill of hand eye coordination.
We also read one of our read, write, count books Nothing Faster Than a Cheetah. We listen to the author and illustrator on Author Live and took part in a draw along of the cheetah! Then we made our own Top Trumps on a Google docs, we can’t wait to play them with our families when they join us in 22nd November!

We continued our learning about the air we breath today in science learning more about our respiratory system. We created labelled diagrams and even had a go at making our own lungs model to understand how they work.
P3 finishing off their Jack Jack Skeleton studies inspired by the characters of Tim Burton. Pupils focussed on drawing skills then oil pastel blending. Very spooky creations p3b!
We have been learning about the air that we breath – air pollution and our respiratory system.
On Monday we made mucus and discussed how important it is! We experimented with coco powder, cous cous and oats to see the impact of air pollution to our health.
Today we explore the body works mall in the science centre to learn more about how our body works.
Then we took part in a workshop all out the air that we breath.
We had a fabulous day out!
