Jubilee of Disability

This week is the Jubilee of Disabilities. We were lucky to have a visit from Layla from Sports Disability Scotland on Monday to tell us a little about her life and why sport is so important to her.

We have been learning British Sigh Language this week too and today we signed our name to our partner.

We have also been learning Makaton  and have leaned how to sign over the rainbow.

We have learned about the different reasons people might need to use British Sign Language or Makaton to help them communicate.

We were delighted to team up with the stuarts of creation to plant our amazing donated saplings. We were so proud to receive 500 saplings from the Woodlands Trust after writing to them.

We first identified our saplings when they arrived using the guide.

Then we separated them into heading and trees and we have created a lovely heading row down towards the new car parks and an orchard in our back playground.

We cannot wait to watch them grow! What a legacy to leave Primary 3! Well done!
