Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006.
This act makes provision for all parents to be members of the Parent Forum at a school, and to have their views represented to the school, Education Authority and others, through a representative Parent Council for the school.
The Act aims to help all parents to:
- Be involved with their child’s education and learning
- Be active participants in the life of the school
- Promote contact between school, parents/carers
- Be involved in the appointment of senior school staff
- Fundraise for the school
In this current session the following parents hold key posts:
- Harriet Boyle, Emma Anson and Gillian Gray – Joint Chairs
- Victoria Pearson – Secretary
- Michelle Borland – Comms
The Parent Council will share the agendas for forthcoming meetings and these will be shown in the Minutes and Agenda’s section below. In response, parents are invited to share their views with Parent Council members so that their views can inform any discussion.
