Hello everyone,
This week at nursery has been full of adventure and community spirit! Some of the children enjoyed a lovely visit to Netherlee Pavilion Library, where they explored new stories and shared their love of books. Our walk to the local shops helped build confidence and road safety awareness, and the children were very proud to post letters to different companies asking for support in improving our outdoor space with donated gardening supplies and new planters. We also had a wonderful trip to Linn Park, where we explored the wonder of nature, spotting early signs of spring and listening carefully to the birds. A big thank you to all the parents who joined our Drop In sessions focused on Big Feelings and how we can support children to identify, understand, and manage them — your partnership makes such a difference!
Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up. This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.
School and Nursery Photographs
We will be welcoming Jane Henderson back into our school and nursery from Monday 16th March until Friday 27th March. She will take:
- class, individual and sibling photographs of children in P1 and P7.
- class and individual photographs of children in P2-P6.
- our nursery children will have individual photographs
The photographs will be taken indoors so we don’t have to worry about the weather!
As always, we will do our very best to include all children in the photographs but this may not be possible if a pupil is absent during Jane’s time at school and nursery.
Please could school children wear a shirt and school tie on the day/s their photos are due to be taken as we have timetabled these sessions around PE and outdoor learning days. We always have spare ties in school that the children can wear, if needed. Nursery children can wear their normal nursery clothes.
Please see attached timetables (w/c 16th and w/c 23rd), which details the days and times your child’s photograph is due to be taken. Please note there are a few exceptions to the siblings photographs due to nursery patterns and/or outdoor learning. If this applies to your family, Mrs Linn will contact you to let you know your children’s photograph date. We hope the photographs will be a lovely memento of your child’s year in school and nursery.
Voluntary Contributions to Nursery Fund
Voluntary contributions to our nursery fund play a valuable role in enriching the experiences we can offer the children. While core activities are always provided, these contributions help us go further—supporting special resources, workshops, outings, and creative projects that spark curiosity and make learning even more exciting. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits the children by providing opportunities that enhance their development and enjoyment at nursery. We appreciate your involvement and engagement with all aspects of nursery life and look forward to working with you again this year. Contributions can be made via ParentPay. Thank you so much to those families who have already donated.
Achievements
We love celebrating the children’s achievements both in nursery and at home, and we’d be delighted if you could share special moments from outside of nursery too. Whether it’s learning a new skill, showing kindness, or simply making you proud, these experiences help us to build a fuller picture of your child’s development. Please feel free to send in photos, notes, or stories so we can share their successes with the nursery community and celebrate them together. Click on the Achievements link below to share achievements with us.
