Hello everyone
It’s been really lovely for children to share with their special adult during our ‘Stay and Play’ sessions this week. I hope you have enjoyed having time to see the activities children choose to engage with and to talk with staff about nursery life.
Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up. This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar. If you are having problems viewing the calendar, you can change the view by selecting view week/month/agenda at the top right and change to view by agenda where you will then see a list of events.
Early Learning and Childcare and Out of School Consultation
We have been asked to share a consultation from East Renfrewshire Council aimed at those accessing Early Learning and Childcare or Out of School and also those likely to access either of these services in the future. The consultation is now live and will run until Sunday 20th October. The link to the survey is available here: https://forms.office.com/e/Fi9GW96GFG.
Nature Hunt
Are you going out walking this weekend? Can you spend a few minutes gathering autumn leaves or pine cones? These can be used for an abundance of activities by nursery children, including making collages, loose parts or decorations so please have a look if you are out and about. We would love you to hand these into the nursery after the holiday weekend if you do gather some.
Dressing for Cold Weather
As the colder autumnal weather is finally here I’m afraid t-shirt weather may be over. It would be really helpful if your child dresses in layers and has a jumper, hoody or cardigan each day which can be removed/ put back on as required. Windows in our playrooms are kept open during our nursery day to provide adequate ventilation and doors are often open to allow children to freely access the garden. Please remember to name all clothing items that your child is wearing as well as all spare clothing in their nursery bag too. Many thanks for this.
Rosh Hashanah
A number of our families will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah next week (Wednesday 2- Friday 4 October) and the P7 Diversity Leadership group would like to mark this occasion with a short presentation, activities in classes/ playrooms and offer a small tasting of apples and honey on Friday 4 October. We have taken into account all of the children’s allergy information however, if anything has changed, can we please ask that you let the school office know by Thursday 3 October by emailing SchoolMail@netherlee.e-renfrew.sch.uk. We hope our families who are celebrating this festival have a special family time!
We Need You!
We are always looking for new ways to involve our parents, carers and families in our school and nursery events. To support us with gathering a list of regular volunteers we would like to share this new volunteers Microsoft Form with you. For example, some of our regular opportunities involve local walks and upcoming events include helping in our new school library. If you would be happy to volunteer at one of our upcoming or regular events then please complete the form below and we will be in touch with you. There are also QR codes located at the school office and near to our school gates where you can access the form too. Alternatively, our volunteers form can be found on our school and nursery website. Thank you so much for your continued support. We really appreciate it!

Head Lice
It is always a good idea to periodically check your child’s head for any little creepy crawlies. We have lots of useful information on this in our website so please click this link if it would be of help to you.
