Nursery Newsletter 20.09.24

Hello everyone,

What a beautiful week of sunny weather, the children and staff have really enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine.

Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up.  This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.
Maths Week Scotland
We’re all looking forward to a very busy Maths Week celebrating the links between maths and literature, storytelling, songs, games and more! You can get a flavour of some of the experiences children are involved in through our X feed @sand_nc and during our ‘Stay and Play’ sessions next week. If you are looking for ideas to do with your child at home there are lot of suggestions here: https://www.mathsweek.scot/families/activities

Safety in Nursery
We’ve been talking to the children about keeping safe in nursery using our new purple cuddly elephant called SIMOA. SIMOA stands for Safe, Inspect, Monitor, Observe and Act.  You might have noticed our poster at the front door of the nursery. Please help us with keeping everyone safe by not allowing or encouraging your child to push the bar to open the Saplings door when exiting the building. Thank you for your help. Please click on the link to read the SIMOA poster SIMOA poster.

Cauliflower Cards for all Occasions
We have been sending home information about Cauliflower Cards throughout this week, if you’ve not received a pack please just ask. Maybe other members of your family want to design their own cards too? Just let us know, and we can send you an additional form home. You can choose from packs of cards, wrapping paper, mugs and a range of other items displaying your child’s artwork. Please note: this is optional, and not compulsory at all. It is a worthwhile fundraising project for us, and any support will be much appreciated. All completed order forms, with the chosen piece of artwork should be returned to school/ nursery by Friday, 4 October please.

Have a nice weekend with your family.
