Hello everyone,
Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up. This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.
Nursery Absence
If your child is going to be absent from nursery, please phone or email the school office on 0141 570 7260 before their start time. Although nursery attendance isn’t compulsory, it’s important that we’re informed of any absences, especially if they are unwell or have an infectious condition. Keeping us updated helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children and staff, allows us to follow the necessary health guidelines, and ensures we can communicate promptly with other families if needed. Thank you for helping us protect the wellbeing of our nursery community.Parent Appointments
Thank you for signing up for one of the appointments during week commencing 17th November. We look forward to this opportunity to share progress of learning and working towards next steps for your child.
Family Learning Drop ins (Health and Well Being Focus)
Wednesday 19th November 3.00pm-4.00pm or Thursday 20th November 4.00pm-5.00pm
We’d like to invite families to a drop-in session to chat about how we support children’s Health and Wellbeing in nursery. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how we help children make positive behaviour choices, build friendships, and develop important skills like empathy and self-regulation. Staff will be on hand to share ideas, answer questions, and offer practical tips for supporting wellbeing and positive behaviour at home and in nursery. We look forward to seeing you there! If you can’t make it along to the drop in sessions, please find some useful information in the attached leaflets or scan the QR codes in the foyer.
All the Fun of the Fayre!
We’re getting ready for our Winter Fayre on Thursday 20th November and would love your support! We’re kindly asking for donations of home baking to sell at the event — please ensure all goodies are nut-free and that any allergens are clearly labelled. Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be able to donate any home baking the day before or on the day of the Fayre. The children and staff will also be busy in the kitchen, baking and cooking up tasty savoury treats, as well as creating some beautiful festive artwork to sell. All funds raised will go towards supporting nursery resources and activities — thank you for your generosity and help in making our Winter Fayre a success!
St Andrew’s Day Celebration – Friday 28th November
To celebrate St Andrew’s Day, the children will enjoy a range of fun, Scottish-themed activities, including Scottish stories and songs. On Friday 28th November, children can come to nursery in their usual clothes and, if they would like to, they can wear something tartan – such as a scarf, headband or kilt.
Festive Stay, Play and sing-along Session!
We’re excited to invite you to our special Festive Stay and Play sing-along session! This joyful event will be filled with opportunities for you to join your child in a range of festive, creative learning experiences — from sparkly crafts to seasonal sensory play. We ask that only one ‘grown up’ per family comes along to these sessions to keep our environment safe, relaxed and fun. To finish, we’ll come together for a cheerful sing-along to celebrate the season. So warm up those vocal cords and get ready to sing with us as we spread some holiday cheer! Please find the dates and times for your child’s group below:
Nursery Singalong Tuesday 9th December Groups: 10.30 a.m -11.30 a.m Deers, Owls, Rabbits, Hedgehogs and Badgers

Linn Park Visit
Groups of children will be given the opportunity to access local green spaces throughout the year. The local outing consent form completed when your child joined nursery covers these type of trips but we will remind parents nearer the time by email if their child is due to go so that parents and children are prepared and also so they can share their learning with families.

Voluntary Contributions to Nursery Fund
Voluntary contributions to our nursery fund play a valuable role in enriching the experiences we can offer the children. While core activities are always provided, these contributions help us go further—supporting special resources, workshops, outings, and creative projects that spark curiosity and make learning even more exciting. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits the children by providing opportunities that enhance their development and enjoyment at nursery. We appreciate your involvement and engagement with all aspects of nursery life and look forward to working with you again this year. Contributions can be made via ParentPay. Thank you so much to those families who have already donated.
Achievements
We love celebrating the children’s achievements both in nursery and at home, and we’d be delighted if you could share special moments from outside of nursery too. Whether it’s learning a new skill, showing kindness, or simply making you proud, these experiences help us to build a fuller picture of your child’s development. Please feel free to send in photos, notes, or stories so we can share their successes with the nursery community and celebrate them together. Click on the Achievements link below to share achievements with us.
