NNC Friday Newsletter 17.11.23

Hello everyone,

It has been a very busy week in Netherlee!

This week, we celebrated Book Week and World Nursery Rhyme Week. Thank you so much to Mrs Greig and Mrs Morton, who led fantastic Bookbug sessions. The children (and grownups too!) just loved singing along with the actions to some much loved songs and nursery rhymes. We also had some author and writer visits too, including Mrs Cross and Mrs Strang-Roy. Thank you so much for coming to visit us!
Children in Need
A huge thank you for all your generous donations for Children in Need.  So far the school and nursery have raised £669.76 for Children in Need. If you would still like to make a donation, Parent Pay will be available over the weekend until Monday morning and we will confirm the total amount raised in next Friday’s newsletter. We are very grateful for all of the donations we receive for this great cause.

We also took part in lots of fun experiences for Children in Need, organised by our Primary 7 House Captains. This included decorating our doors, wearing something spotty and doing some spotty artwork!

St Andrew’s Day – Thurs 30th November
To mark St Andrew’s Day the children will be participating in a variety of activities. On Thurs 30th November, if children would like to, they can wear something tartan – scarf, tie, skirt, kilt etc.

Nursery Christmas Celebration
We are very excited to invite you to our Nursery Christmas Celebration. The children will be performing some festive songs to get us in the Christmas spirit. All celebrations will take place in the Saplings building. There will be two performances for each building. We are kindly asking parents and carers to attend over two performances and that a maximum of two guests per child attend the celebrations. The celebration will last approximately 40 minutes.  Please see dates and times below:

Acorns: Thursday 14th December –
9.45am: Yellow and Red Group
2pm: Green Group
Staff will take children to the Saplings and back to the Acorns after the Christmas Celebration.

Saplings: Friday 15th December
9.30am: Purple and White Group
2pm: Orange and Pink Group
If your child does not normally attend on the days of the celebrations, please just let us know. Should they still wish to take part- they are of course more than welcome!

Christmas Party: Wednesday 20th December
Our Nursery Christmas party will take place in both buildings on Wednesday 20th December. The children should come to nursery in their party clothes for day. The Christmas Party will take place between 9:30am-11:30am. If your child does not normally attend on this day, please just let us know as they are more than welcome to join the party!
