Hello everyone,
Thank you to those who came along to the family learning sessions this week with Mr Strang Roy and Mrs Toman. We hope you found the session informative and picked up some additional ideas on learning through play.
Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up. This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.
A Message from Netherlee PTA “Coming Together For Our School”
We would like to remind you that completed Cauliflower Cards forms are due on Thursday 25 September. However, if you were not able to complete these by then, we ask that the forms are handed in at the nursery/school office not later than Tuesday, 30 September. Join our Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up to date with our activities.
Chatter Café
All nursery and school parents and carers are very welcome to come along to our Chatter Café on Wednesday 8th October from 9:15am until 10am in our school Hub. This is an extremely informal opportunity to chat to members of the Leadership Team and to meet other parents and carers to share your thoughts and ideas about any aspect of Netherlee life! You’ll also be able to enjoy some tea, coffee and delicious home baking, made and served by a group of pupils too! Please do pop in if you can- we really look forward to seeing you.
Head Lice
It is always a good idea to periodically check your child’s head for any little creepy crawlies. We have lots of useful information on this in our website so please click this link if it would be of help to you.
Small Toys
Could we politely ask that children do not bring toys and wear ‘special beads, tiaras and jewellery’ to nursery. When favourite toys are kept at home this avoids upset if they get lost or broken.
Scarves and Hats!
We are on the lookout for interesting scarves and hats that can be used as open ended role play materials. A scarf can turn into a cape, coat or dress with imagination. Please think of donating these items to us if you are clearing out your wardrobe in preparation for the change of seasons.
Parental Feedback
Over the last session, children, parents and staff suggested a tree as an appropriate image to represent the growth of our children and their learning. The torch in the centre of the image is taken from the centre of the school badge representing the light of inspiration for learning and a link with the school community. Please add your comments to our post it board in the foyer.
Voluntary Contributions to Nursery Fund
Voluntary contributions to our nursery fund play a valuable role in enriching the experiences we can offer the children. While core activities are always provided, these contributions help us go further—supporting special resources, workshops, outings, and creative projects that spark curiosity and make learning even more exciting. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits the children by providing opportunities that enhance their development and enjoyment at nursery. We appreciate your involvement and engagement with all aspects of nursery life and look forward to working with you again this year. Contributions can be made via ParentPay. Thank you so much to those families who have already donated.
As always, we are always here to help in any way we can, whether that be about your own child or a more general matter in relation to the school or nursery. We are also always looking for suggestions and new ideas so please don’t hesitate to get in touch at any time.
Have a wonderful weekend.
