Nursery Newsletter 30.05.2025

Hello everyone,

The weather has been a bit unsettled this week but that hasn’t stopped us from enjoying a range of outdoor and indoor play experiences!  We hope you found the parent consultations with the nursery teacher and practitioners informative and a great opportunity to discuss progress and next steps for your child.

Upcoming Events
Please have a look at the parent calendar, available on our Netherlee Website, to see all the dates and times of the various events coming up.  This link will take you straight there https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/sandnc/calendar.

Sports Week – Monday 9th June to 13th June
During Sports Week there will be a focus on trying a new or different sport to encourage development of gross motor skills, coordination and a team approach within the nursery setting with their friends as part of their choice of options for play and learning. We will encourage the children to share their new skills with you, so expect lots of requests to play a variety of sports!  Look out for a date in next week’s bundle about a family afternoon session soon.

Tie Gifting
We are very excited to invite you to our Nursery Tie Gifting for children leaving Netherlee Nursery to start school in August. This will take place on Wednesday 18th June and Friday 20th June between 9.45-10.30am.  Both events will take place in the Saplings building. We kindly ask that a maximum of two guests per child attend the Tie Gifting.

Please see dates and times below for the groups:

Wednesday 18th June 9.45-10.30am
Owl
Deer
Rabbit
Butterfly
Fox

Friday 20th June  9.45-10.30am
Otter
Hedgehog
Squirrel
Badger

The ceremonies will take place in the outdoor play area at the back of the Saplings building unless there is adverse weather. Parents and carers should arrive through the Saplings gate and enter through side gate in the P3/4/5 playground.

Those not attending the tie gifting (including our younger children) on the above dates should still attend their normal nursery session. If your child does not normally attend on the days of the tie gifting, please just let us know should they still wish to take part- they are of course more than welcome!

As always, we are always here to help in any way we can, whether that be about your own child or a more general matter in relation to the school or nursery.  We are also always looking for suggestions and new ideas so please don’t hesitate to get in touch at any time.

Have a wonderful weekend.
