St Andrew’s Day – Friday 29th November
To mark St Andrew’s Day the children will be participating in a variety of activities. There will be learning opportunities throughout the day to find out about traditions and celebrations linked to St Andrew.  On Friday 29th November children should come to school in their uniform as normal, if they would like to, they can add something tartan to it – scarf, tie, skirt, kilt etc.

Book Week Scotland 18th – 24th November
There are author visits and events, library visits and many reading opportunities this week in school. Here is some more information about further events that you may be interested in Book Week Scotland

Parent Council Meeting
The next meeting of the school and nursery Parent Council will be at 7pm on Wednesday 20th November.  This will be in the Hub in the school.  We hope to see as many parents and carers as possible and as ever will hear from the school leadership team on a number of issues, with the opportunity for free and open discussion.  If there is anything you would particularly like us to raise at the meeting then please email netherleeparentcouncil@gmail.com.  The agenda for the meeting is below:

Primary 1: Dental Inspection
Please find a letter from the NHS regarding the school dental inspections.

Primary 1-4: Netball Class
Pass, pivot, shoot –  East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure run a Netball Class on Fridays at Williamwood High School for children aged 5-8 years old from 6pm-7pm. Led by their coaching team will teach your child all about the great sport of Netball!  If your child is interested in joining the class, you can book a free taster session now: https://ercl.classforkids.io/info/19

Primary 3a Baking
Primary 3a will be celebrating St. Andrew’s Day by making shortbread biscuits. The ingredients are; butter, caster sugar and flour. The children won’t be eating the biscuits in school but will bring them home in a ‘biscuit bag’ of their own design! If you do not wish your child to take part, please let me know.

P4-P7 Dance Club
An after school P4-P7 dance club will be starting on a Tuesday and a Thursday from 3.45pm-4.45pm. The clubs will run for 6 weeks. You can sign your child up to one of the clubs or both.  Full details are as follows:

Activity: P4-P7 Cluster Dance Club
Day and Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:45pm – 4:45pm
Tuesday Dates:  21/1; 28/1; 4/2; 4/3; 11/3; 18/3
Thursday Dates: 23/1; 30/1; 6/2; 6/3; 13/3; 20/3
Venue: Williamwood High School
Delivered by: Miss Glen / Miss McGregor
No. of pupils: 15 per session
Cost: £0

If you think your child would be interested in attending, please complete the form for either one or both of the clubs by clicking the links here: Tuesday Registration Form and/or Thursday Registration Form no later than Friday 22nd November. In the event of oversubscription names will be balloted. All successful applicants will be notified and asked to complete a consent form via ParentsPortal.

Primary 5a & 5c Showcase
Primary 5 would love to invite you to our Showcase on Wednesday, November 27th. Doors will open at 14:00 for a 14:15 start, and we kindly ask that a maximum of two adults per child attend. We hope to see you there!  Showcase invitation

Primary 5b Showcase and Meet Miss Stevens
Primary 5 would love to invite you to our Showcase on Wednesday, November 27th. Doors will open at 14:00 for a 14:15 start, and we kindly ask that a maximum of two adults per child attend. We hope to see you there! After our showcase, Miss Stevens will be available in the HUB for a quick chat and an opportunity for you to meet the teacher, should you wish to do so. Showcase invitation

Please check your emails regarding the above visit and complete the consent form via ParentsPortal.
