Languages – We have been using our writing lessons to create links with our expedition. This has included creating a Mars fact file and writing a biography about a famous scientist of our choice. We have been receiving lessons from Ms Patterson who is a French specialist; she has been expanding our learning about sport.

Numeracy – In Math we have been learning about negative numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages as well as shape position and movement.  We have also linked our expedition learning to probability by carrying out fun and exciting activities.

HWB/RE – Lent has begun, many of us have been thinking about Pope Francis and his message this year about fasting. We have finished our PFFA and have been learning about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit while considering these as we continue our journey as the Confirmandi. In PE we have been participating in team games such as basketball, football, dodgeball.

Committees – We talked about what committees are and how we can improve them going forward. We have taken time to create short videos an presentations with our ideas for the Miss Conlin.

Budgeting group – Pupils from P7c have been selected to be a part of a budgeting group with Miss Ionta, “We will interview Mrs McBride and Mrs McBrearty, we also had a parent come in to our meeting to support us with this”, Maira.

Bike Ability – We completed our on the road session this month and were awarded either a level 1 or level 2 award for our successes.

Expedition – Through answering our Big Questions, we have been engineering parachute to replicate the one used for the Mars Rover. We also had the opportunity to use the VR headsets, which took us on a journey to Mars. When we landed we saw the Mars Rover, “It was a very exciting experience and it added extra excitedness to the expedition”, Lara. Our expedition has had a science focus; this has linked to our literacy lessons as well. We have carried out experiments inspired by Sir Isaac Newton looking at gravity and forces.

Eurovision – P7c won the Eurovision Song Contest, our reward was a party. Thank you to Mr Connor for arranging.

Drama – With Ms Sinha we were miming and pretending to be someone else’s mirror image.

School Trips – Some of the pupils in P7c travelled to Man City to watch Man City and Aston Villa, we had a great time! We also visited the Science Centre our favourite part was the wacky salon. We also watched a live science experiment in the theatre. “My favourite part was watching Ms Clark catch some poo as part of an experiment”, Maia.

Transition – This past month we also had our 2 transition visits to St Ninian’s, we took lessons in Chemistry, Art, Business and Design Technologies, “It was really fun to see what it will be like in St Ninian’s”, Zuha.

Sporting Heroes – Pupils from our class represented the school as part of the Badminton Squad, “We came second overall, which was a great success as it was a Scottish Championship”, Daniel. The St Cadoc’s P7 Netball teams also all came second in the cluster championship, this was a fantastic achievement and showed the talent and training all of the teams had undertaken prior to the festival coming to fruition. James, Mishika and Tristan represented the school in a football match at St Ninian’s. Keira represented the school in Cross Country came 73rd out of hundreds of pupils from across east Renfrewshire.

Dance Club/School Show – The dance club has restarted and some of the pupils are a part of that, training each week and getting ready for the upcoming competition. The school show rehearsals have also begun and many of us were successful in getting a part. Freya – Lumiere, Maia – Belle, Lara – The Enchantress. Well done to the girls on their successes.
