Welcome back to Primary 5/6 and another exciting Blog!
Maths:
This month, we started Fractions and have found fractions of whole numbers and equivalent fractions. Primary 6 learned how to do long multiplication calculations and Primary 5 sat our Standardised Tests! We also learned how to successfully carry out Distance, Speed and Time calculations!
Language
In Language this month, we have looked at adverbial phrases, past tenses, auxiliary verbs and commas. We continued to focus on Setting in Writing and wrote a couple of pieces on this subject. We also learned some Scots Language too!
RE
We continued with the Pope Francis Faith Award and are now working through ‘Wisdom’. We performed a Talent Show in class! We also found out about Mr McLaughlin’s favourite saint, Maximillian Kolbe. We received our Ashes and have begun preparing for Easter.
Health and Science
We learned the correct positions for Netball and enjoyed some competitive games in the MUGA. We learned about Renewable Energy. We loved our trip to the Science Centre. Whilst exploring ‘Life Beyond Land’, we found information about The Water Cycle, Rainbows, Space Exploration and the oceans.
Art
We created fantastic pastel drawings of the planets.
As always, keep an eye on Twitter for up to the minute news and photos!
