Jingle the Elf – Part 2

Jingle has still been up to mischief!!!

Here are some pictures of his antics so far this week.

On Tuesday he tried to go with Mr Williams to Eastwood High School. He really wanted to go until he found out he would have to go on the train. Far too scary for a little north pole elf.

This morning we found a BIG mess on the floor so we immediately called Mrs Crossan down to investigate. Turns out Jingle found some leftover flour from our active spelling and he thought it was snow. He decided to make a snow angel and leave us a message!

Mrs Hamilton has also had our elves causing havoc in her kitchen. She was VERY surprised to see this photo as she always locks the door and double checks before she leaves. The elves must have been hungry – good healthy choice with melon though!

Over and out for now

Musical Mayhem

On Friday we had a visit from a music specialist. He taught us how to use pitch, rhythm and voice. We played lots of games to help us keep the beat.

For one of the games we had to turn upside down while singing and passing the ball. It really made us laugh.

LEARNING CAN BE FUN!!!!

Miss Ritchie was VERY impressed with our musicality and took some photos to share with you.

We can’t wait to see what else he gets up to between now and Christmas. Keep up to date with us by checking our blog!

Active Spelling

This morning we completed a range of spelling activities. We decided to spell festive words!

img_7779

Christmas Bingo – Instead of shouting BINGO, we shouted JINGLE! We hope Jingle the elf heard us calling his name!

img_7780

Decorate the tree – Instead of baubles and tinsel we used our spelling words

img_7781

Snow Spelling – We used paintbrushes to write our words in the snow

img_7782

Paint – We painted our words in festive colours

img_7783

Word search – We had to hunt for our words within a jumbled word search

We learned how to DIVIDE!

We have been learning how to share cubes equally between people. Another word for share is DIVIDE! We are really excited to learn about division.

We are working hard to make sure each person has the same amount of cubes.

Amber – “So far I have enjoyed it. I would like to keep on learning about division. It was VERY fun!”

Beth – “I was learning how to multiply by 2 but now I am learning about dividing.”

Route Challenge

We are working on problem solving in Maths. We had to find different routes through the house whilst also collecting magic spells! We had to follow instructions about the rooms and the ladders.

“When you had been into a room, if you came out you could not go back inside again.” – Mitchell

“We had to add up the number of magic potions by doing a calculation.” – Sam

“We had to pick the routes and do calculations for each route. We had to do lots of calculations, 3+ 3 = 6   6+3 = 9” – Blake

“Me and my partner had to use calculators to help us if we got stuck” – Alexander

img_7496

“Lewis and I had to try and get through the house to get to the other side and see how many potions we got!” – Rosie

“We had to work as a TEAM!” – Lewis
