September Class Blog

We have made an excellent start in Primary 3! It is very different from Primary 2 as we have our own desks and chairs. We have jotters for each subject and do work in them each day. We have some active play in our classroom but not like in Primary 2, that’s because we’re the big boys and girls now!

Each of us has shared, in our own words, a few things we have enjoyed or learned so far in P3 below.

Grace- We get to learn lots about the Egyptians. I have learned that pyramids take years to build. They put all the organs in jars.

Naomi- We have been doing stories and we have been learning about how the Egyptians turn into mummies. I have enjoyed being in the p3 playground.

Adam- We learned that it takes 70 days to turn someone into a mummy and they get put into a coffin and sometimes the coffin is gold and blue. We watch Newsround and we have been learning about our new Prime Minister Liz Trust.

Charlotte- I have been learning my timetables. We have enjoyed looking at the Egyptian books in our classroom.

Parisa- They would wrap the body in 20 layers of bandages.

Sareen- They put a hook up their nose to get the brain out. They also leave your heart in the body because they thought it had all your love and thoughts.

Rory- We have been drawing about the yellow, blue and red colour monster. The yellow is for happiness, the blue is for sadness and the red is for anger. When we were watching Newsround some people were having food fights and we have also being sitting on chairs and desks.

Francesca- We have learned our 2 and 3 times tables.

Zahra- They cut the left side of the body to get the organs out. They worshiped cats.

Georgia- We have been learning about The Lost Sheep. He lost his sheep and went to look for it. It was under the rocks.

Nadine- We have jotters and our own table. We also have reading books. There are trays for the teachers and the children have their own trays too. It is different from p2. We have a reading den to sit in, it is blue with yellow stars and lights.

Elisa- We wrote about our topic, about the Egyptians getting mummified. When we voted the Egyptians won, they got the most points so we are doing that topic.

Savyasachi- We wrote a story about Tiddler. He was a fish who was late for school every day. We were pretending we were Tiddler and we wrote about what we did that made us late. We were also reading our textbooks and we answered the questions in our jotter. I have enjoyed my classroom. I like having my own desk.

Matthew- We did maths mosaics of Donald duck, Mickey Mouse and goofy. You do maths questions and colour them in to make a picture. The mindfulness colouring is relaxing, we colour it in on our own and it has to be colourful. We were learning about the Egyptian words, hieroglyphics. We wrote our names.

Andrew- The Egyptian priest had a wolf mask on during the burial.

Mia- We have done spelling and some maths. We have done writing for silent b, using chalk outside and also stamps and beads.

Louise- We have our own groups, red, blue and green. We have to get group points for being quiet or helping carrying PE equipment. Whoever gets the most points gets the pillows for the whole week.

Elias- I have learned subtracting and times tables. I have enjoyed reading books and getting group points and getting the pillows.

Michael- I have enjoyed having new friends in my class. I have enjoyed writing about Egypt and the Tiddler story.

Carson- I have enjoyed my new teacher.

Cillian- I enjoyed making my own Tiddler. I stuck on sequence and feathers.

Thank you for reading our blog!
