Primary 7 received their £5 from Mrs McRobb today. The boys and girls have been working hard to make products that they think will be sell-able to other pupils and visitors to the school. I cannot wait to see how far the £5 will go. Good luck to everyone, let the selling begin!
Yesterday, P7 made sure they were wrapped up to brace the cold wind at Whitelee Windfarm.
Whitelee is the UK’s largest onshore windfarm. It has 215 turbines that generate up to 539 megawatts of electricity, enough to power just under 300,000 homes.
We had the opportunity to hug a windmill and listen to the vibrations, make our own windmill through scientific enquiry and learn more about renewable energy.
One of the bonus activities during flexible learning this week was a K’Nex challenge. Those that chose to participate had to try and make a functioning wind mill. Look at the great K’Nex windmill designs made. Well done boys!
Primary 7 joined up with Primary 1 for Teamwork Tuesday. They had to use a range of resources available to them to build a shelter for their puppet to sit under. The aim was for their structure to keep their puppet dry and not let any water in. Well done for the amazing collaborative work today! All of our puppets stayed nice and dry.
This morning in Primary 7 we were learning about the acronym ‘BOUNCE BACK’. Mrs Dallas was working with our class to think of strategies we could use when we are not feeling 100% or feeling a little bit down. We were discussing how it is ok to not always feel 100% but identifying that this feeling will not last forever.
Yesterday, Primary 7B attended the local chambers to participate in the Lord Provost debate. We were arguing for and against the motion that deforestation in the Amazon should stop. We heard some great points from both sides – well done P7!
Primary 7 were faced with a technology challenge today. They were learning to configure, control and make the Spheros move around the obstacle course. It was definitely more challenging than it looks!
