This week in writing we were learning to select ideas and use interesting words in our writing. We used our senses to help us create a magical setting which we found when we walked through a cupboard! We came up with some wonderful ideas and to inspire us we watched a video clip from Narnia!
‘When I walked through the cupboard I went back in time!’ Jonathan
‘When I walked through the cupboard I was in Ninjago City!” Finn
“I liked moving around the senses carousel with my group” John Joe
“We had to use our imagination!” Sophie Finnigan
“I enjoyed writing because it was lots of fun.” Mirrin
On Friday we had our first visit from St Thomas’ new music teacher called Mrs Lyall. We learned about the beat, ‘ta’ and ‘te te’. We loved it!
At the beginning of this term we did lots of revision and practise of sentence building to help with our story writing. So far we have written a personal piece called ‘All About Me’ and an imaginative story called ‘A Walk in the Woods’. Tomorrow we will focus on creating a magical setting in a story called ‘The Magic Cupboard’.
On Friday we visited the library where we listened to a story called ‘Willie Dreams’. We had great fun and we even got to choose our own book to take home.
Primary 3 have had a fantastic start to the new school year. We started in Art by creating personality silhouettes. We drew pictures which represent different parts of our personalities.
