Site visit to Hazeldene

Children manage risk and self assess, only climbing as high as they are comfortable.
One of the best things about playing in the woods is the opportunity for meaningful co-operation.
Beauty, wonder, practicality and excitement
Children need freedom to explore, to invent, to play.
A cosy haven for anyone who wants rest or shelter.
The walk to and from the woods is as much a part of the experience as being there.

“Hide and seek is my favourite.”
Hot chocolate and potato scones - yum!

“I’ll just try it out, in fact I’ll just stay here, it’s nice and comfy.”

Thanks to Gillian, Leanne and the children at Hazeldene for sharing their Woodland Warriors adventure with us.
It was great to see an established forest school approach in a beautiful setting with so much potential for play.
