Jumptastic June

We can’t quite believe it’s this time of year already and our final blog  of the term.

Sports Day 2026

We had such fun at our annual sports day and it was lovely to have our grown ups watching us. Well done team green!

We have been very excited watching the transformation of our caterpillars. They ate all their food, went into their chrysalis and after two weeks they reappeared as beautiful butterflies. We fed them yummy fruit for a few days and then it was time to release them into our nursery garden. We watched as they all flew high in the sky. We are hoping they’ll visit us soon.

Alongside the important events happening this month, we continue to explore our nursery environment together.

In the block area we have been exploring simple forces by constructing a slide for our vehicles. “The train is slow, the car is faster.”

We have also been using the Lego and stem resources to create smaller, more intricate designs.

To celebrate Scotland’s first game at the World Cup we had a ‘wear something Scottish’ day. The children were very excited to show us their football kits, Scotland flag tattoos and pieces of tartan clothing.

What a fantastic year we’ve had together with lots of learning. We hope it’s been lots of fun.

We wish the children moving on to school the best of luck. Please come and visit us when you can. We know primary 1 will be very exciting and you’ll get to meet lots of new friends.

To our children returning in August, we wish you a lovely summer (hopefully the weather is kinder to us this year) and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of love from Mrs McKie & Mrs Sloan xxx
