Recently the Netherlee Football team had a match against their local rivals Carolside Primary School. The result was an eight five win to Netherlee. The match was split up into three thirds of twenty minutes, the first third Netherlee had a good start and went 3-0 ahead.

Unfortunately the second third didn’t go quite as well as we would have wanted it to. Carolside scored three goals in quick succession. Luckily for us we nicked a goal in before the end of the second third to give us a four three lead.

At this point we knew we needed to get back on top of our game which we did by scoring two more goals to make it six three. We were then unlucky and conceded another goal to make it six four. It then went to seven five then eight five.

Unexpectedly Glasgow McKenzie had to go in goals for us as our original goalkeeper, Lewis Gough, injured his hand and was unable to carry on. The goal scorers were Johnny Greenwood who scored a hat-trick, Ben Thomson scored two and Michael Foley, Christopher Jack and Alex Addie all scored one.

It was another strong performance and we look forward to our next game.
