This week the focus of the nursery has been Growth and the children have been enjoying learning about all the different types of seeds there are. They have been examining them, sorting them, making them into seed scatter balls and planting them.
It’s been lots of fun!

The children have been keen to learn all about spiders this week and have been interested in developing their cutting skills. Today they made crumpet pizzas and decorated them with vegetable spiders, they were delicious!
The children continue to be fascinated with numbers and counting and have taken part in loads of activities this week linked to maths.
We have counted the eyes on spiders, solved Numicon puzzles, played car races to see who’s car could land on the largest number, made playdough pumpkins then counted them while smashing them and plenty more……
Donations to the Mearns Nursery Toy fund can now be made through ParentPay
The donations are used to purchase everyday items such as the ingredients for play dough, cooking and baking as well as well as funding new toys, events and specialist visitors to the nursery.
The suggested donation is £2 per week or £18 per term and contributions can be made through ParentPay.
Today is fun Friday so we started our celebrations by making bagel pizzas! The children enjoyed spreading on the sauce, chopping up the vegetables and sprinkling on the cheese.
