We have been using dots and dot patterns to practise counting. It helps us to recognise grouping on dominoes as well as challenging our counting skills when they are all mixed up!
This is called subitising!

A huge thank you to the lovely mums and dad who joined our walking group today. Also thank you Mrs Rossi for showing us new parts of Mearns and giving us ideas for future walks with the children.💛

This week our word is ‘spider’ – click below to watch,
What a wonderful night we had welcoming families into the nursery to experience all our autumnal learning.
We are super proud of our Mrs Zaheer who completed the Froebel training and was awarded her certificate by Mark Ratter on his visit to the nursery and school. Well done Mrs Zaheer ❤️
We are looking for pine cones, acorns, chestnuts, sticks and leaves for our Family Fun Night on Wednesday. We are also looking for dried flowers, pot pouri, shells and stones.
If you are able to help can you please hand in to Miss Dickie for Tuesday. All your help is appreciated 💙.
We have been busy recognising numbers, counting pegs and ordering numbers this week. At times we also sang number songs and rhymes as we worked.
Our task also required us to use our fine motor skills as we used clothes pegs. Maybe now we can help at home with hanging out the washing!
The children spent along time concentrating making yarn wrapped leaves. They demonstrated good hand and eye and fine motor control sharing their knowledge of autumn whilst they worked. 🍁 🍁
The nursery has been smelling amazing this week with the aroma of homemade rolls. The children weighed, measured, combined the ingredients, kneaded the bread and then designed the hedgehogs using scissors to make the spikes. The best part though was eating our hedgehogs – delicious! 😍
