We had great fun in the woods this afternoon – we took our dragon mascot and we loved our new hammock 💛
Starcatchers movement and dance
We used lycra to move like Chinese dragons, Â incorporating our creative dance and movement.
Cooking extravaganza
This week whilst learning about the Chinese Lunar New Year, we have been chopping, peeling, grating, washing and cooking to make stir fry and spring rolls! The nursery has smelled amazing with the aroma f the cooking and the finals products tasted delicious 💛
Bird feeders
We peeled, chopped, grated, boiled and mashed potatoes and carrots. We then added bird seed and filled coconut shells and pine cones with the mixture and hung them in our nursery gar for the birds.
Digital Technology
We are all so lucky at Mearns Nursery, as we have some fantastic resources for us all to use to help us learn. Â Here we are using some iPads to play Codeapillar, Scratch Junior and Beebots. Â It is so much fun to be able to explore these resources together.
Then last week we were super excited to receive a set of indi spheros which are a lot faster than our Beebots. We had great fun learning how to use them and giving them a go!
Knit and natter – connecting
Recently we have connected with a few of the ladies from the Newton Mearns Baptist Church knit and natter group. Â They have come along to help us as we learn to knit, sew and weave and we have enjoyed the chats along the way!
Walking Group
We had a lovely walk today, albeit a bit slippy in parts,it was good to have a blether and a catch up , thank you 💛
If you go down to the woods today…….
