Look at our work!
We were looking through the jotters in our ‘school’ area and were blown away with what we found! Here are some examples!
Yellow Group Together Time
Today instead of listening to a story, the Yellow Group used objects to create and tell their own story! I think they are amazing authors!💛
Rainbows
The children had expressed an interest in rainbows. This week we have used STEAM to carry out rainbow experiments and we have used our creative skills to make our own rainbows 🌈
Mearns Masters Gastronomers
This week the children decided, as we had a lot of over ripened bananas, to make banana loaf! As always we had to measure out ingredients, mash, mix and cook!
Classroom!
Our home corner has been transformed into a Primary 1 classroom and we have been very busy playing and working in this new area. Some resources from Primary 1 classes have been placed in here in order that they are familiar for those starting school in August.
In the woods today
Outdoors
There is definitely a change in the temperature but it has not stopped the fun and learning outdoors.
A big thank you!
A huge thank you to Mr Winston for giving up his weekend to repaint our climbing frame and friends bench. The children and staff love the new colours and it has smartened up our garden. Thank you!
Woodland Walkers
We had a very busy day in the woods today. The children were all involved in risk assessing, spotting dangers, highlighting litter to be collected and looking for low level branches. We found a spoon and a bear in the woods and the children then built a house for the bear and engaged in story telling. Bug hunting was also very popular, lots of great vocabulary and imagination shared to describe what they had found.
