We had a very busy day in the woods today. The children were all involved in risk assessing, spotting dangers, highlighting litter to be collected and looking for low level branches. We found a spoon and a bear in the woods and the children then built a house for the bear and engaged in story telling. Bug hunting was also very popular, lots of great vocabulary and imagination shared to describe what they had found.

Mearns Masters Gastronomers
Today in the school kitchen we made Raspberry and Oat Muffins and Fruit Kebabs. We had to use the scales to weigh out quantities and chop, mix and spoon mixture to be cooked. We threaded our chosen fruit onto kebab sticks and enjoyed our healthy snack 💛
Gardens in a box
We were invited to P4:14 to see the wonderful gardens the children had designed and made in shoe boxes. The nursery children were given tokens to vote for their favourite. They were all outstanding but here a small selection of some of our favourites. Well done P4.14!
Mud Plattering
We had great fun outside using mud and fly swats to create our ‘muddy’ masterpiece! 💛
Mearns Masters Gastronomers
Today we made sweet potato brownies. We had to peel, chop, mash, weigh and mix ingredients together.
Camembear
Today we all met Camembear, our new ‘student’ as Phoebe said! Camembear has come all the way from France to teach us French. We learned how to say hello, ‘Bonjour’ and to tell him our name, ‘je m’appelle’ .
More Mearns Masters Gastronomers
We visited the school kitchen again to make more yummy pizza! 💛🍕
