It was lovely to see lots of the children showcase their talents on Friday. We are such a talented bunch! We are eagerly waiting to find out who is going through to the finals.

The circles maths group have been learning about number bonds to make 20. Today we had some fun making spots on lady bugs, we added up the spots to make 20.

Today some of us decorated our moveable characters that we made from last week. We also enjoyed making creations using cardboard, playing with iPads and being outdoors.

We had lots of fun at Sports Day! Well done to everyone who took part. It was lovely to see everybody try hard and congratulate each other. ๐๐

Today we enjoyed making lots of arts and crafts. We used tools to cut cardboard. Jacob made a car park using cardboard packaging and Grayson made a hammer. Some of us used our fine motor skills to make different designs by curling strips of paper. ย Some enjoyed using chalk to make a hopscotch outside. Lots of us enjoying playing with iPads and kapla.

Today we went to the new MakerSpace to start our last Mearns Masters pathway – the designers.
We enjoyed drawing, painting, using tools to cut cardboard, using the iPads, building towers using Kapla and making rainbows all about ourselves. We are a very creative bunch so we enjoyed the opportunity to try out different resources and make our own creations!

It has been a really enjoyable experience getting to see and hear about everyoneโs time capsules that they created. Everyoneโs confidence and presentation skills have really developed over the last few weeks with this project and our solo talks. Well done!

Pupils from St Ninians High School came to tell the nursery, primary 1s and 2s about their work as bee keepers. They have their own bees and they are responsible for looking after them. They told us about different types of bees and how they make honey.

Today we have been learning about plants. We can name the different parts of a plant and explain what plants need to grow. Weโve had lots of fun trying out different activities: we labelled parts of a plant, we dissected some flowers and looked at the different parts, and we planted seeds in soil.

The Young STEM leaders from primary 7 came to visit us. They planned some super STEM tasks and experiments for us to try out. We made a house using playing cards (Which was challenging!)ย , we had to balance lollipop sticks and straws using blue tac, we made towers and models using cocktail sticks and blue tac, and we had to try using different materials to make a marble move.
We had lots of fun with the primary 7s, thank you!
