A busy week in Primary 1.5!

In science the boys and girls have been learning about states of water. They were able to talk about how water changes in hot and cold temperatures πŸ₯Ά

The children experimented with water using droppers to pick up water and create bubbles on the surface.

In mearns masters the children have been learning how to code and different directions that are used to code. They have been coding the Bee-Bot to move across the mats in different directions.

We have been working very hard this week on our phonics sounds and learning our tricky words! Well Done Primary 1.5! 🌟

In PE we tried really hard to balance on the lines and not come off, if we bumped into someone we had to play rock, paper, scissors to find out which direction we would travel in! πŸ˜„

Gymnastics fun πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

In PE we have been working on gymnastics, the boys and girls have been working on balance, travelling and landing.

Primary 1.5 read the β€˜Three little Pigs’ and then we built houses for the pigs, the boys and girls worked hard in a team to build a solid structure. Well done Primary 1.5!

Science fun!

We tested different materials to find out what made the best bubbles! We went outside and tried our different materials, the children found out that the best material was plastic for the best bubbles!

Christmas Party and a special visitor!

The boys and girls of Primary 1.5 had a great morning at their Christmas party. We played pass the parcel, musical statues, corners and best dancer.

After ourΒ  Christmas party we had a special visit from Santa! πŸŽ…Β He delivered a gift for each of us! 🎁

Gingerbread Fun πŸŽ„

We read β€˜The gingerbread man’ story and then made our own gingerbread men. We designed and decorated gingerbread biscuits and sequenced the story using pictures.

The boys and girls have also been spending time in our Christmas themed provision areas. We have especially enjoyed the Christmas train tuff tray, gingerbread decorating and the loose parts play.

We have been spending time reading stories to candy, our class elf on the shelf.

The boys and girls wrote about candy, we worked hard to use capital letters and full stops in our sentences. We then drew pictures of Candy.

Festive fun, phonics and more! β„οΈπŸŽ„β­οΈ

The boys and girls have been working very hard in primary 1.5 over the last 2 weeks! We have been working hard on revising our sounds and playing fun tuff tray games to help us!

We also have been working hard on our number calculations and using concrete materials to add to 10 and beyond!

Some of us have been working on our numbers and counting and recording our answers in our jotters.

The boys and girls enjoyed a fun Joe Wicks warm up before heading down to the PE hall for Scottish dancing on Tuesday!

We have also been focusing on our handwriting and laying this out neatly in our handwriting jotters! What beautiful work Primary 1.5! πŸŒŸπŸ˜€

We have been working hard in Primary 1.5! We have been enjoying our outdoor pitch time where we have been working on travelling and balancing! We really enjoy balance tig!

We have been working on our sounds this week and we worked hard to identify words with the β€˜or’ sound in. We worked together to sound out and write our spelling words.

We have also been enjoying our areas in the classroom. We have created castles, built buildings and designed tracks for our trains to travel on!

We also had an exciting visit from the library today and were given our final bookbug Β bag! We read some lovely books and sang some songs! Well Done Primary 1!

Cinema Day! πŸ˜„πŸΏ

Primary 1.5 had a great time at the cinema watching minions! We all thought it was very funny and laughed from start to finish!

Our favourite parts were when the minions made funny faces and noises! πŸ˜ƒπŸΏ

When we arrived back at school we completed some activities linked to the minions in our workbooks! πŸŒΒ πŸ˜€

Primary 1 Big Welly Swap! β˜”οΈ

The boys and girls worked very hard on organising and taking part in a welly swap to help campaign against the cost of living crisis. We donated wellies and swapped these for a bigger size!

We also took part in a welly toss and performed a song about how we were helping reduce waste by recycling our wellies! β˜”οΈ

Spooky phonics and more!

This week our phonics activities had a spooky twist! We read the Halloween phonics words and matched them up to the pictures! πŸ§™β€β™€οΈπŸŽƒ

During values play the boys and girls coloured pumpkins in their pumpkin patch area! We used a range of colours and talked about our creations!

The boys and girls have been working hard at using our sounds to read words, we read the words on the ghosts to our partners and then added them to the pot to make a word potion! πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ

We have been enjoying spending time in our pumpkin patch, buying and selling pumpkins to each other and even using pumpkins in our play kitchen to make pumpkin recipes! Well Done Primary 1! πŸŽƒ

We worked hard on our mental maths this week, we have been revising shape, number and time! ⏰
