Today we had a special visitor come to talk to us about his important job as an air traffic controller! We told him all about our Pilot visit and he then told us about how he helps the pilot by directing him in his aeroplane!
We spoke about different airports across the UK and where the air traffic control tower is in each one. It needs to be very high up to see all of the planes!
We then played a fun game where we were all planes flying around the sky and our peers directed us on where to fly by using the directions ‘climb’, ‘descend’, left and right. We all had lots of fun and learned lots about the job of an air traffic controller!
Primary 1.5 had a special visitor come and speak to us about our transport topic. Matthew is a LoganAir pilot who flies planes carrying passengers and goods around the UK and to other countries.
We had so much fun learning all about being a pilot and the special job Matthew has! He also answered lots of questions we had about aeroplanes and how they fly!
We had great fun trying on some of the kit pilots need to fly the plane! We loved talking to each other through the headset and also got to see a real pilots license!
We were very excited this week to have some of our Primary 7 peers come down to primary 1 and read us their lovely stories! We had lots of questions about the stories! 📖
Primary 1.5 have been having lots of fun during lunchtime on Fridays when some of us go to Playzone and play fun games with the Primary 6 leaders! Well Done boys and girls!
In science the boys and girls have been learning about states of water. They were able to talk about how water changes in hot and cold temperatures 🥶
The children experimented with water using droppers to pick up water and create bubbles on the surface.
In mearns masters the children have been learning how to code and different directions that are used to code. They have been coding the Bee-Bot to move across the mats in different directions.
We have been working very hard this week on our phonics sounds and learning our tricky words! Well Done Primary 1.5! 🌟
In PE we tried really hard to balance on the lines and not come off, if we bumped into someone we had to play rock, paper, scissors to find out which direction we would travel in! 😄
