Our seeds are growing! We measured them today and learned about centimetres.

Our Mearns Masters block this term is learning about campaigning. The class decided they wanted to help endangered animals. We have first of all been exploring what animals are endangered and have been chalking  these.

As part of learning about our bodies we have been thinking about personal space. We had fun with hula hoops to help us learn about this.

We have been learning about how seeds grow. We planted sunflower seeds and are having great fun watching them all grow. These will be coming home soon for you to try and see if you can have the tallest sunflower 🌻 

Thank you to Veronica’s Grandpa who came to visit us to talk about being a civil engineer. We loved hearing about his job building dams. We have been trying to build dams in our play!

We have been learning slicing and chopping skills in the kitchen. We developed our skills in using the Claw and Bridge holds to slice and chop soft fruit and vegetables. We made canopies from these. We even tidied up😀

We read different fairytales and came up with a problem that needed fixing in each of these. We then designed things to fix the problems using a variety of materials. Here we had to design a bridge for the Three Billy Goats Gruff to cross as the other bridge had fallen down.

We have learned what coding means. Giving a computer instructions how to do something like move in a computer game. We have learned directions and symbols for these. We used our knowledge to play games and programme Bee-Bot to move .

We are learning to skip count in 2’s, 5’s and 10,s

We have been learning about shapes and patterns. We have had fun making some.
